The Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA) has welcomed the ACT Government’s 2021-22 Budget, which has seen investment into infrastructure projects placed as a central pillar on which the region’s economic recovery will be built.
Health and Safety
Lives will be saved thanks to a world-first Queensland trial, backed by the Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA) jointly with Roads Australia, Traffic Management Association of Australia, AustStab and Safer Australian Roads and Highways. This trial will use speed camera technology to target speeding drivers in school zones and roadwork areas across Queensland.
Sustainability
After the Sustainability SMARTS – 7 lunch time talk by Rob Rouwette of start2see, the AfPA LCA Calculator for Asphalt has been made available for download and use. C02eq and IS Rating EnviroPoints are calculated from input data from up to 30 asphalt plants and considering up to eight alternate products to the base case.
Technology
A Guide to the Structural Design of Flexible Pavements for Ports and Container Terminals has been completed by the AfPA Pavement Committee and published on the AfPA website website.
The guide covers the design of all types of flexible pavements within container handling terminals and similar cargo handling terminals.
