Consultation on heavy vehicle charges

We’re seeking feedback on the Transport and Infrastructure Council’s preference for heavy vehicle charges to increase by 2.5 per cent in 2020–21 and 2.5 per cent in 2021–22.
We want to hear from industry and the public about the matters explored in the NTC’s heavy vehicle charges consultation report, released today.
The proposed increases to heavy vehicle registration and road user charges were the preference of the Transport and Infrastructure Council at its meeting on Friday, 22 November 2019.
Following this public consultation, all feedback will be provided to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development for consideration.
Consultation closes Friday, 28 February 2020.
