As we announced recently, preparations are well underway to conduct a mechanical safety check of Australia’s heavy vehicle fleet.
Authorised officers from the NHVR and partner agencies across Australia will conduct a mechanical inspection of 8,000 heavy vehicles including trucks, buses and other special purpose vehicles.
Just as it did five years ago, the National Roadworthiness Survey will play a vital role in assessing the fleet’s condition.
All operators should ensure their vehicles’ maintenance is up to date and drivers are conducting regular checks before each trip, using the NHVR Daily Safety Checklist.
