Judging Process

Stage 1

Members of the Judging panel are independent of TMAA Ordinary member companies and the TMAA Board. After nominations close, all valid nominations are forwarded to the judging panel. Judges will review all nominations and may choose to contact nominees directly to ask further questions or clarify responses. Judges score the nominations.

  • National Traffic Controller of the Year Excellence Award: The top score in each state will be announced as the State Finalists. State Finalists (and Highly Commended where applicable) will be advised directly and announced on the TMAA website and  social media channels.

  • All other Excellence Awards: all other Award finalists will be announced by mid-December 2024 on TMAA social media channels.

Stage 2

The next stage of the selection process requires all finalists to submit a short video of up to 45 seconds (strictly enforced). The video should introduce the finalist, highlight their achievements, showcase their workplace, and explain why they deserve to win the relevant award. These video submissions will assist the judging panel in making their final decisions for the Excellence Award winners.

Please note that the video submissions will be shared on TMAA’s social media channels in the weeks leading up to the Conference. Additionally, videos from Highly Commended and National Winner finalists will be featured during the Annual Conference Gala Dinner.

We strongly encourage finalists to minimise background noise to ensure sound clarity.

The deadline to submit video entries is 7 February 2025. We recommend using a file sharing website like wetransfer.com.
