The award is open to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service, safety practices, and leadership as part of a traffic management operations team over the past year. Nominees are evaluated based on criteria such as their compliance with regulations and procedures, safety record, reliability, and contributions to improving traffic management practices. The winner of the Traffic Operation Team Member of the Year Award receives a trophy and prize money ($1,000), along with industry-wide recognition.
