Now in its sixth edition, TMAA’s 2026 Traffic Management Industry Survey is now open, and we invite all traffic management companies Australia-wide to complete the survey and influence the future direction of TMAA’s advocacy efforts for the coming year and beyond.

As the peak industry body for Australia’s temporary traffic management (TTM) sector, TMAA is proud to represent an industry that employs over 30,000 Australians and generates over $2 billion of direct economic activity – all the while supporting tens of billions more to happen – every single year.

To make sure we are the most effective advocate possible for our sector, we continually engage with members and industry stakeholders to understand how our advocacy efforts can align with their priorities for a safe and sustainable TTM industry. Our annual Traffic Management Industry Survey forms a key component of this engagement.

Each year’s survey provides valuable metrics on economic activity, industry outlook, workforce participation and capability, and safety standards that not only provide TTM companies with key benchmarks upon which they can assess their own operations, but critical insight into the health and future outlook for our sector as a whole.

All traffic management companies – including both current financial members of TMAA, and non-members – are strongly encouraged to complete the survey.

But they’ll need to make sure they complete the survey no later than 11.59 pm AEDT Sunday 4 October 2026 to ensure their responses are counted.

This year, TMAA has made a number of revisions to the survey to reflect past participant feedback, as well as the needs, interests and priorities of the TTM sector. These include:

• The adoption of a new survey platform and improved user experience to make it easier than ever to complete the survey.
• Updated topics to reflect current issues in the TTM space, including workforce composition, assets held, cost drivers, and safety priorities.
• Revised question formats to support increased engagement and completion rates.

All current financial members of TMAA will be provided with access to a complimentary copy of the Traffic Management Industry Survey report following the conclusion of our analysis; this is valued at almost $1,100. All non-members who complete the survey will also receive a complimentary copy as recognition of our appreciation for participating.

TMAA’s Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Bereni, emphasised the value of the annual Industry Survey to the association’s advocacy work.
